I'm delighted to welcome Sia Yazdanfar at the gallery to share his remarkable photographs and story.
We share the art and craft of capturing a particular place and time in the world within the borders of a two-dimensional frame. A drawing, a painting, a photograph is never the place itself, but well-crafted, it communicates that place’s distinct spirit.
Sia's photographs are quite different from my paintings in media and the subject location. The locations these works represent are under different skies, different heavens. Together under one roof, the images share a joyful expression of color and form revealing beloved attachment to places that for us, is close to paradise.
